A new scholarship research program being offered in 2010 (PhD and Post Docs) by the Food Security Center at the University of Hohenheim, (Stuttgart, Germany) primarily for developing country scientists, for a period of 4 to 36 months, starting April 15, 2010. This is a program of the Higher Education Excellence in Development Cooperation supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). FSC offers three categories of scholarships:
1. Sandwich scholarships (North-South, South-South, South-North) for PhD students (6 months) https://fsc.uni-hohenheim.de/79510.html
2. Research scholarships for visiting postdoctoral researchers (4 months) https://fsc.uni-hohenheim.de/79511.html
3. Excellence scholarships for FSC-supported PhD program "Young Excellence School" (36 months) https://fsc.uni-hohenheim.de/79512.html
In category 1 and 2, FSC scholarships will support researchers from developing countries to conduct their research either at University of Hohenheim or at an international research institute in a developing country, including at CGIAR Centers. Deadline for student applications for Categories 1 and 2 to the University is January 30, 2010. (Application deadline for category 3 has not been posted yet, but will be announced on the web site by end of January).
