Description: | Position: National Director – ChildFund Angola Reports To: Regional Director – East/Southern Africa Duty Station: Luanda, Angola
Position Overview:
- Implements strategic initiatives and ensures all operational activities are in support; promotes consistency throughout all actions and fulfillment of globally aligned initiatives
- Oversees the allocation of sponsorship and other funding resources within the country; including networking and communication diversified sourcing, accountability and compliance
- Directs all programming within the country to ensure applicability with strategic initiatives and ChildFund International’s core intent while supporting proper resource stewardship.
- Remains diligent in the degree of attention and resources provided in the training and capacity building of national office personnel.
- Ensures all programming and office activities, behavior, and decisions are made to support our core outcomes and place children’s experience of deprivation, exclusion, and vulnerability at the center of our policy and practice
- Establishes and maintains a positive and productive working environment for assigned employees; ensuring efficient working habits and compliance with ChildFund International’s objectives and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrates professional development/skills competency in all activities.

Requirements: | Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Must possess a post-graduate degree in a social or human services field with a focus on humanitarian outreach operations.
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years experience in humanitarian program planning and execution at a senior management level
- Demonstrated skills in building strong teams and nurturing collective team work.
- Experience in program design and funding, operational oversight, resource stewardship and mobilization (especially from grants) and cross-functional coordination
- Experience in promoting visibility of teams and programs with diverse audiences to include: non-profit, non-governmental organizations, and ChildFund Alliance members.
- Outstanding English / Portuguese written and oral communication skills are required.
- Exceptional leadership qualities that engages and empowers staff.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation capacity, ability to teach and instruct, and strong relationship-building with proven experience in diversity awareness
