Purpose
To lead in coordinating global campaigns across the whole Plan network. To manage the successful development, monitoring and implementation of campaign projects and activities to agreed targets and objectives.
What does the job holder plan?


• The job holder creates and executes campaign activities across Plan e.g. devising and running campaign training and engagement initiatives for colleagues either via online or in person
• Advises and supports Plan's staff to develop and implement campaign activities according to agreed objectives and strategy.
• Manages the buy-in and communication of campaign information across Plan
• Works with country team and external allies ro produce policy positions
What are the outputs and deliverables?

• Manages the monitoring and evaluation of current campaigns and reports on outcomes, impact and makes recommendations for the future
• Ensures outreach to relevant external organisations and, with the Global Campaign Assistant, keeps all contacts up to date
• Supports the collection and collation of evidence from Plan projects into products suitable for consumption by advocacy audiences and appropriate for global campaigns
• Prepares briefings, newsletters, reports, background papers and other support materials as needed
What does the post holder oversee?


• Manages communication with colleagues across Plan to gain insights and cases from the field as well as sharing information
• Helps to manage the global consultative process to identify global campaign themes for research and policy and inputs into strategic planning document
• Consolidates and updates local/regional campaign plans to create a global overview of all campaign activities being undertaken within Plan
• Identifies and delivers appropriate campaign actions related to our advocacy and campaign aims
• Communicates with and expands our campaign supporter base
• Puts together campaign messages and advocacy asks with the team

• Plan’s campaigns can be shown to have a positive impact on the communities with which Plan works
• The demand for Plan’s campaign products increases significantly among key audiences, activists and colleagues
What are the primary linkages for this post?

• Work closely with Policy, Effectiveness, Advocacy and Communications colleagues to ensure campaign messages and activities are impactful, substantiated and promoted
• Work with campaign focal points across the whole of Plan to share knowledge and generate buy-in
• Liaise with relevant external organisations on behalf of Plan’s campaign

• Strong organisational and project management skills – experience in handling several projects or campaigns at any one time, including scheduling and budgeting, ability to plan strategically, attentive to detail, ability to prioritise
• Demonstrable training and presentation skills
• Excellent writing and editing skills – ability to produce excellent written materials for a variety of audiences including briefings, newsletters and reports
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Second language desirable (preferably French and/or Spanish)
Qualifications and Experience


• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Minimum of five years experience of setting up and running issue-based advocacy campaigns
• An understanding of communications, PR and marketing and how they affect campaigning
• Demonstrable experience of impactful advocacy e.g. international lobbying or shaping national government policy
• Demonstrable interest in international development issues
• Ability and willingness to travel and work unsociable hours
• Understanding of the Convention on the Rights of the Child
