Summary: The United States Embassy has a vacancy for Cultural Affairs Assistant in the Somalia Unit
Description: The incumbent under the direct supervision of the Public Affairs Officer for Somalia, will perform all duties associated with programming and cultural initiatives.

Duties include preparing grants, maintaining the American Corner(s), coordinating the International Visitor Leadership Program, and organizing outreach opportunities for Somalia
Unit Members.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in government, nongovernment
  • organizations, Public relations, or similar fields is required.
  • Level IV English ability and level IV Kiswahili Ability are required.
  • Level IV Somalia also required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Somalia’s political, economic, social and cultural environment.
  • A working knowledge of the United States government political and cultural system is also
  • required.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to exercise good judgment in handling of administrative program matters.
  • Must possess computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
