Salary c. £ 35,000 - £35,500 p.a.

Policy Analysis and Advocacy

Practical Action is looking for an exceptional individual who can make a significant contribution to our work on issues concerned with the use of technology for poverty reduction. As an international NGO with offices in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the UK, we work with poor people to develop sustainable solutions and, to achieve wider impact, influence the policies and practices of others.

As Policy Adviser in our Policy and Advocacy Unit you will be responsible for developing and undertaking work to influence international policy and for supporting policy analysis and advocacy by our offices in the South, including helping to build their expertise. You will also have some line management responsibilities. You will enable Practical Action to contribute to topical debates and to develop policy positions around issues concerned with the contribution of science and technology to poverty reduction and sustainable development.

With a degree in a relevant subject and at least five years post-qualification experience in policy analysis and advocacy, you will have excellent communications and analytical skills, and knowledge of international development.
