Position Overview NORC, which has a strong international housing finance practice, is seeking candidates for a resident advisor expert in housing micro finance for a projected spring 2010 project. The assignment is anticipated to be for 2-3 years, and possibly longer.

The advisor will be responsible for working in detail with existing micro finance firms on the design and all areas of implementation of housing loan products that will supplement their existing product lines. The advisor will work under the general direction of the NORC project manager. Information on NORC can be found at www.norc.org.

Required qualifications At least 10 years' experience with micro finance in developing countries, including at least one resident advisor assignment working directly with MFIs. Experience in Africa is desirable but not a requirement.

At least 5 years' experience in housing micro finance.

Strong working knowledge of finance, including basics of financial risk management and bank accounting.

Maturity of judgment, a record of working successfully with local organizations, demonstrated ability to understand the state of development of the local micro finance system and design activities that materially contribute to its development.
